A Bible camp in Southwestern Manitoba continues to work at raising money to pay for a new kitchen and dining hall.

Turtle Mountain Bible Camp is located between Deloraine and Boissevain and each year hosts about 650 youth at the camp’s weekly sessions.

Camp supporters are busy raising money to finish construction on the new kitchen and dining hall at the camp. “We held a comedy night in Brandon last week and raised close to 12,500 dollars and it was just an awesome week for fundraising,” said camp co-director Kathy Weir.

Weir says some of the money that came in was through donations made at the One Hope Canada concerts held in Virden and Killarney.

Weir adds camp registrations are coming in at a pretty good pace.

As for fundraising, the next event planned is a J.O.Y. Fellowship Music Night at the Mennonite Brethren Church in Boissevain on Friday, April 27th. It will be an evening of hymns and music and the program starts at 7:00 p.m.
