Nearly 300 home runs helped raise $85,903 for Children's Camps International this past weekend.

The 2017 Big Hit Slow Pitch Tournament in Winkler broke multiple records, Dave Thiessen, National Director, explains, adding this year's totals were more than double previous events.

"Winkler is an amazing community," Thiessen says. "The hearts of the people giving were just incredible to see."

He notes one major donor promised to match every dollar donated, even until the end of the week.

The funds will help CCI provide kids in India, Cambodia, Kenya, Fiji, Belize and Mexico an exciting camping experience while sharing hope through the Gospel. This year's event alone will send 16,700 to camps around the world.

"When we think of the life-changing experience this provides, we're excited to know many, many kids and parents will come to know Jesus as their personal saviour," Thiessen says.

Since 2003 CCI has seen more than 1.6 million campers.

As a result of the weekend tournament in Winkler, 20,000 Bibles will be given to kids around the world as well.
