9-year-old found dead in river

A nine-year-old boy was found dead in the Red River Sunday after a weekend-long search.

Winnipeg police say Darius Bezecki was found dead in the Red River north of Winnipeg. He had gone missing July 3 around 4:30 p.m.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services (WFPS) received a call about a person in distress in the river near the Louise Bridge. The Winnipeg Police Service WPS) joined the search soon after.
