Update: Police have a 20-year-old man in custody.

Police believe that a 20-year-old man called for a cab but then stabbed the driver after being picked up.

Authorities believe this was an unprovoked attack.

As the suspect fled, police say the driver was able to activate his emergency light and individuals in the neighbourhood called the police.

A Winnipeg man is charged with four counts of Fail to Comply with Condition on Release Order and Second Degree Murder.

Winnipeg police officers are looking for more information regarding a serious attack that killed one man early this morning.

Officers responded to a call of distress at approximately 5:25 a.m. in the 500 block of Burrows Avenue.

A cab driver was found seriously injured and transported to hospital where he later died of his injuries.

The incident is being investigated by the Winnipeg Police Service's Homicide Unit.
