Manitoba's Premier has made some big moves in Cabinet.

Brian Pallister has moved Heather Stefanson from Justice minister to Families minister, Cliff Cullen takes over Justice, Scott Fielding is the new Finance minister, while Cameron Friesen moves to Health, and Kelvin Goertzen takes on Education and Training. Former Education minister Ian Wishart will be a legislative assistant to Goertzen.

"Ian (Wishart) and I have not just been colleagues for a long time, we've been friends for a long time, and I consider it an honour to be able to work along side him," says Goertzen.

Pallister says there will be a consultative review of Manitoba's K-12 services, and to ask Goertzen to handle that while tackling the rest of the education's portfolio's responsibilities is too much of a load.

"I would say we're giving Kelvin Goertzen less of a break than he may anticipate because education is in need of reform and in need of improvement in our province and I know that Kelvin is the guy that can tackle that challenge. He'll be supported in that by Ian Wishart," says Pallister.

St. Vital MLA Colleen Mayer is the new minister of Crown Services.
