Winnipeg police are asking for the public's help in locating a 21-year-old man who is wanted in connection to a stabbing death.

Police say on Dec. 17, 2018, officers responded to a check the wellbeing call in the 600 block of McGee St. and located a 34-year-old victim suffering from stab wounds. He was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.

The victim has been identified as 34-year-old Ricardo Junior Hibi.

The suspect, who remains at large, has been identified as Kane Ashley Antonio Moar, who is now wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for Second Degree Murder.

"Just some back story here, Ricardo was the owner and manager of a group home at the residence where he was killed," Const. Jay Murray said. "We don't believe Moar knew Hibi directly, but we believe he knew one of the teenagers who resided there."

Moar is described as an Indigenous male, 6'0 in height and 190 pounds with a medium build, black hair and brown eyes.

Police believe Moar has a "TRZ" tattoo on his right hand and a cross tattoo on his left thumb.

Murray says Moar is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached under any circumstances.

Moar is also wanted for two additional Canada-wide warrants for being unlawfully at large and suspension of his statutory release.

Anyone with information is asked to call Winnipeg police at 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
