Environment Canada has issued wind warnings for much of the southern half of Manitoba.

A cold front tracking across southern Manitoba is bringing strong northwesterly winds in its wake.

Winds gusts of 90 to 100 km/h are possible this morning as the front crosses the area. Winds will moderate later this morning into the early afternoon hours.

Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.

Update (6:58 a.m.): The wind warning has ended for the City of Winnipeg, but still remains in effect for other areas in the Red River Valley and central Manitoba.

Update (9:13 a.m.): All wind warnings have ended in Manitoba.
