What began as a dream of uniting the Church of Winnipeg became a reality this past winter, and it's ready to launch into a new season.

ONE Worship Nights were organized by Richard and Kristjana Hale from Calvary Temple and a team of leaders. Richard says that after an exciting start to ONE Worship, the organizers took advantage of the summer break to evaluate how the evenings work.

Richard says that after an exciting start to ONE Worship the organizers took advantage of the summer break to evaluate how the evenings work. "We've been thinking about how we can make the nights better, and listening to the feedback we get from people."

Worship as well as mission

One thing that's been part of the evenings since the start is not only a chance to unite Christians in worship but mission as well. A free-will offering is taken during the evenings, and the proceeds have gone towards World Vision projects.

"It's been so encouraging to witness not only the worship but to see people coming together and pouring out their generosity so they can impact others with God's good news of love and grace," says World Vision's Chris Schroeder.

Richard Hale says that given the number of natural disasters occurring in Canada and abroad that this month's offering will be used by World Vision in response to some of those crises.

Jordan St. Cyr joins this month

Each month has also included a special guest, and this month Manitoba's own Jordan St. Cyr will be joining the ONE Worship Band. "He's going to be a blast," Richard said.

St. Cyr's latest single, Victory, has been doing well in Canada, and he's recently won two awards for his songwriting.

The Niverville native is also the Worship Pastor at Winnipeg's Oasis Church.

"I just want to make sure that everyone knows they're invited out," Hale says. "We had such good momentum going in June, and now we want to hit the ground running and keep this thing going."
