2020 and 2021 have been quite the whirlwind for Colton Dixon and his family.

In March of 2020, touring came to a halt for Colton as COVID-19 took over the world.

Shortly after that, Colton along with his wife Annie, announced that they were expecting twin girls. Those girls were born in August of 2020, but not without complication.

"We had to switch to a c-section last minute because it was taking a while," Colton explains. "Little Ava Dior, the first one out, wasn't breathing and didn't have a pulse. So we kinda had that moment of faith or fear. We had to make a decision, and it wasn't necessarily an easy decision."

"We started praying and believing that God was still a God of miracles. We watched, and little Dior was resuscitated, and she is now the sweetest, happy, healthy baby."

He says the pandemic was a blessing in disguise as it has allowed him to be at home with his girls for the first several months of their lives.

Colton is currently wrapping up a drive-in tour with Skillet and Jordan Feliz. This was his first time being back on the road in over a year.

"I miss my girls, but it's been awesome being back out on the road and out with some great people as well," says Colton. "It's been so fun. We're coming to a close in a few days. It's been a really great season."

This summer, Colton plans to spend plenty of time with his twin girls, including celebrating their first birthday. He will also perform at a few summer festivals before getting back to writing some new material.

Today on Connections, Colton Dixon shares the miracle story of his twin girls, what it's like to be a father and what it's been like to be back out on the road after a year of being stuck at home due to the global pandemic.
