Taylor Swift's questioning of "Tennessee Christian values" in her newly-released Netflix documentary is causing a stir amongst fans and critics.

This weekend's release of Swift's Miss Americana documentary created a stir over her use of "Tennessee Christian values."

During the scene in question, Swift is speaking to her management team about appealing to her audience's politics. The team advises against it, causing Swift to get upset.

“Those aren’t Tennessee Christian values. I live in Tennessee. I’m a Christian. That’s not what we stand for,” she says when referencing the politician's views against same-sex marriage.

Swift has been publically criticized in the past for her support of the LGBTQ+ community by some outspoken Christians, particularly in her portrayal of Christians in a recent music video. ChurchPOP claims Taylor's portrayal in her song "You Need to Calm Down" mocks Christians with its portrayal of them as "dirty, sweaty, mean, and unintelligent."

Swift's fans, however, have been mostly supportive of her challenging traditional Christian values.
