Day for Freedom is back on CHVN March 15, 2018.

March 15 is Manitoba Human Trafficking Awareness Day. Join us as we share stories of those working to end human trafficking, and how we can join in prayer.

Prayer initiative:

Organizers are asking Manitobans to join them in prayer on March 15, from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m.

Here's how you can pray, and what you can pray for:

Survivors

  • Healing for survivors of any physical trauma they have endured through being trafficked (Jer. 17:14).
  • For mental, emotional, spiritual healing for each survivor (Rom. 12:2).
  • Removal of any lies they have believed about themselves (Zep. 3:13).
  • That God would give them new hope for their lives and future (Gal. 5:5).
  • Any attachment to the past broken off of them (2 Pet. 1:8-10).
  • That they would know it was not their fault (Isa. 61:7).
  • Grace to forgive their exploiters.
  • Positive support to come around them on a consistent and lifelong basis.
  • Courage during court cases and along the journey to recover.

Families

  • Parents and loved ones of missing persons; strength and support.
  • Strong families, especially respect for male leadership in the home and that Christian families would be lifelong mothers and fathers to youth in need.
  • Purity of heart, mind, and soul in all relationships inside and outside marriage.

Potential & Present Victims

  • Potential victims, especially children, persons in care and other vulnerable persons.
  • God to comfort all who are held in slavery and awaiting rescue.
  • Hope, protection, and freedom.
  • Exploiters and persons struggling with pornography (Heb. 4:13-16).

The Support People

  • For frontline workers (hospital staff, paramedics, police, government officials).
  • God to inspire and equip local government authorities to combat slavery.
  • Outreach agencies (MB Human Trafficking response teams/Ministry workers).
  • The Church to get involved: supporting men's groups, continual prayer.
  • Safe shelter with lifelong supportive relationships (i.e. in our homes) and God to raise up male labourers and leaders with a heart for a slave-free Manitoba.
