All of Manitoba remains under an extreme cold warning for Wednesday night.

Manitobans were treated to some mild weather to begin the week but winter quickly returned by Tuesday evening.

Overnight the bone-chilling weather will continue with a low of -31 and a wind chill of -43.

A strong Arctic front moving through the province is causing wind speeds of 30 km/h and more at times.

For Winnipeg, sunshine is expected for Thursday and a high of -21. Wind speeds will continue to gust up to 40 km/h, bringing wind chill values of -40 in the morning.

By Friday temperatures are expected to reach -9, and then -8 on Saturday.

The Government of Manitoba is asking for people to watch for cold-related symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes.
