After eight years as independent artists, The Color has signed a record deal with Los Angeles-based Dream Label Group.

Vocalist Jordan Janzen says they were thrilled to officially sign with a partner to grow their music and ministry.

"It's something we've always dreamt about since the early days," Janzen says. "It's a big moment we're excited to celebrate... it's a big step forward for us."

The Color is made up of Jordan Janzen, James Shiels, Larry Abrams and Tyson Unrau. The Juno Award winners have found success across North America with singles ‘Surprise’ and ‘The Kind Of Man’, both of which charted in the Top 50 on Billboard’s CCM Audience Airplay (Surprise at #27 and The Kind Of Man at #42). The Color was named 2017 and 2018 Group and Artist of the Year at the Gospel Music Association Covenant Awards.

As part of the deal, the band will record a new album to be released this year, with an option to extend the partnership with Dream for three more records. Members of the band will travel to Nashville for a week, once a month, to write new music.

The band, based out of Winkler, is currently planning a North American tour with Stars Go Dim.

In the meantime, the band has been nominated for nine Covenant awards this year with GMA Canada. No stranger to the awards show, Janzen says they're in good company with artists that put their heart and soul into their craft.

"It's been affirming to the process, just knowing we've worked really hard to write great music and put it out there, it's recognition it's working."

GM and Partner of Dream Label Group and Dream Label Group Publishing, Lance Brown says The Color is the perfect fit. "We love their hearts for ministry, their hard work ethic and their desire to influence culture by sharing the love of Jesus Christ to the world. We believe that once you hear the new songs you will understand why we are so excited about The Color."

"We believe it will provide an opportunity for us to grow in a way we couldn't have done, independently on our own," Janzen says.
