Christian actor and filmmaker, Alex Kendrick is thankful to end the year in a healthy state and reminds people to always worship God in all situations.

Alex Kendrick is one of two film directors to have four different films receive an "A+" grade on CinemaScore—Courageous, War Room, Overcomer and Show Me The Father—the other being Rob Reiner.

The filmmaker still manages to bring the focus back to God, even after experiencing health struggles this past year.

"God is good," says Kendrick to Christian Headlines.

In March earlier this year, Kendrick suffered from a mild stroke and recently was treated to remove melanoma skin cancer off the top of his head.

"I had had some issues with that for a number of weeks and slowly overcame that. There's a couple of minor things that stayed with me, but they're not stopping me," he says.

Kendrick also says that the surgery went well, and the doctors believe they extracted all cancer traces which he is grateful for.

"So [there were] a couple of scary moments, but I'm very, very grateful and thankful to the Lord. But no matter what happens, He is good and is always faithful and loyal and deserves our praise and worship...I'm gonna keep rolling, and as long as the Lord allows me to, will keep serving Him and doing what He's called us to do."

He continues to share the lessons he's learnt this year as he experienced health struggles, saying that it is an honour to walk with God, no matter the circumstances. There will be good days and bad days, and worshipping God should be present in all scenarios because He loves His people.

"Sometimes these hurdles make you stop and sit back and just remind yourself, this is temporary...at some point, what I'm going through will pass. I have eternity to look forward to and a faithful God."

Kendrick also shares, along with his step-brother Stephan, that they will begin shooting their newest movie in 2023. That was the only detail said about their next project.
