A group of Hutterite volunteers are praising God this morning after they were involved in rescuing a missing elderly couple on Friday.

Brian and Evelyn Watt were reported missing Friday morning after they failed to return to their Morris, Man. home from a drive in the country on Thursday. Brian, 88, and Evelyn, 83, both require medication and their family and police expressed concern over their disappearance.

Search and rescue volunteers helped RCMP and firefighters in the search for the couple. Those volunteers included the HEART (Hutterian Emergency Aquatic Response) Team.

"God is good! So much to be thankful for!"

The group of volunteers is well known in Manitoba for helping families of drowning victims locate their loved one's bodies in water. However, this time they took to the air instead of the water.

"We have Wonderful news to report tonight!" the team shared in a Facebook post early Saturday morning.

"We were able to by the grace of God find and help bring home safe and alive Brian and Evelyn Watt! We are humbled by the miraculous way God led us and gave wisdom on this mission!"

The team says they used an airplane to search for the couple's SUV.

They eventually spotted the vehicle on a trail in very dense bush near Roseau River. Other HEART volunteers then travelled by van to the couple's vehicle.

"We found Evelyn with the vehicle and after a quick search found Brian about a quarter mile away. We want to thank the RCMP and paramedics for their help. Thank you to all that searched and also for your prayers! God is good! So much to be thankful for!"
