Sony Pictures’ AFFIRM Films and Monarch Media are gearing up to launch Journey to Bethlehem, an epic musical sharing the Christmas story in a fresh, inspiring, and entertaining way.

The new film was produced by the award-winning Adam Anders, whose work includes Glee, High School Musical, and Descendants

The cast is star-filled with Fiona Palomo (“Outer Banks”, “Control Z”) playing Mary, Milo Manheim(Disney’s ZOMBIES series, Prom Pact, School Spirits) as Joseph, Academy Award nominee Antonio Banderas (PUSS IN BOOTS: THE LAST WISH, INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY) as Herod, Luke Smallbone from for King & Country as Antipater and multiple Grammy award-winning artist Lecrae as Gabriel.

“I have had a dream to create a Christmas musical for years, and to see it come to life with a stunning cast has exceeded every expectation,” said director Adam Anders. “We could not be more excited for this film to be a classic for years to come.”

“I hope this music goes down in history because I’m going to be listening to it for a long time, said actor Milo Manheim. “It’s one of the best musicals I’ve ever been a part of.”

Journey to Bethlehem, filmed in and around Spain, shares the Christmas Story in a way that it hasn't been done before.

“This is AFFIRM Films’ first musical in 17 years and over 65 films, and the opportunity to work with one of the most successful music producers and songwriters for our first outing has resulted in a film that far exceeds our expectations. We’re looking forward to sharing this accessible and amazing musical journey with audiences around the world,” said EVP and Head of AFFIRM Films Rich Peluso.

The epic musical will hit theatres across Canada on November 10, 2023.
