Outdoor enthusiasts will be able to purchase licences and park passes from the comfort of their own homes for an added fee.

The province says they are "modernizing" the purchase process for hunting and fishing licences, as well as park passes.

“There are endless adventures to be had in our great outdoors,” Conservation and Climate Minister Sarah Guillemard says.  “We are excited to improve and modernize the way Manitobans and visitors access and enjoy the many outdoor activities offered throughout our province and in our provincial parks."

Previously, these documents were only available for purchase at particular retail locations.

The passes and licenses will soon be available for purchase online with an added $4.50 charge on most documents to "support enhanced service delivery."

The new purchase method requires the purchaser to print and carry the document with them.

“As Manitobans embrace the new system, we will roll out additional licences and permits for purchase online and continue taking steps to improve our services,” Agriculture and Resource Development Minister Blaine Pedersen says.

Guillemard says the move will reduce the province's carbon footprint and improve services offered by the government of Manitoba.
