One adult and an infant were taken to hospital following a serious collision near Ste. Anne, Man. on Friday afternoon.

Fire Chief Bob Saindon says they were called at 4 p.m. on Friday to Highway 12 south of Ste. Anne.

“The initial call came in as needing extrication and the vehicle was on fire,” Saindon says.

He notes a couple of their members were driving by the scene and stopped to help the driver out of the vehicle which was upside down.

Saindon says the six-month-old baby was already out of the car.

“Both were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”

The rollover happened between Ste. Anne and Blumenort, and the southbound lanes of the highway were closed for several hours while crews cleaned up and police investigated.

Saindon says it appears the northbound car lost control and rolled into the southbound lane.

The cause is under investigation, he adds.
