Connor Hellebuyck made 28 saves as the Winnipeg Jets blanked the Nashville Predators 2-0 Saturday night at Canada Life Centre.

It’s Hellebuyck’s fourth shutout of the season and 32nd of his career.

Mark Scheifele and Neal Pionk scored for Winnipeg.

Scheifele notched his 40th of the season with 4:54 remaining in the second period.

Pionk’s goal 1:36 into the third extended the Jets lead to 2-0.

Nashville netminder Juuse Saros faced 38 shots.

The Jets lead the Calgary Flames by one point for the second wild card in the NHL’s Western Conference. The Predators are three points back.

The Flames lost 3-2 in a shootout to the Vancouver Canucks.

Winnipeg and Nashville have three games left while Calgary has two.

The Jets (44-32-3) will play their final home game Monday against the San Jose Sharks.

Winnipeg will then play road games against the Minnesota Wild Tuesday and the defending Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday to end the regular season schedule.
