On Monday, the CHVN team brought out the last Chicken Chef lunch break to a hard-working group of daycare workers.

Sheri Braun nominated the staff members of the Little Lambs Christian Preschool in Winnipeg, and the team was thrilled to get a hot lunch, as well as prizes from additional sponsors.

"It has been a crazy couple of years for them," says Braun. "The space they were located in was no longer available to them and they struggled to find a new home for the daycare. After God worked some amazing miracles, they moved into a space at Winnipeg Evangelical Free Church but they are still in a temporary space there as the renovations needed to create a permanent space are still ongoing."

The staff and many daycare kids have set up a temporary area in the church.

"Throughout all this, Natalie, the director and all her staff have worked cheerfully, joyfully and tirelessly to provide the best possible care for all the children and families in their care."

CHVN staff brought the meal just in time to hear many melodic voices join together. The kids sang 'Johnny Apple Seed' as their lunchtime prayer and then 'Happy Birthday' for one of the little girls who was celebrating her birthday.

"I am a staff person who works in the church as well, and every time I see the caregivers, they are encouraging, supportive, loving and kind to the children and so thankful for where God has placed them, even through all the construction struggles."
