The Lord Selkirk School Division has posted on their website that a hold and secure for all of their schools has been lifted.

The RCMP said in a release earlier that they believed the threats today were actually the same threats from Sunday:

“The RCMP reminds everyone that these types of online threats are taken very seriously and charges will be pursued against anyone participating in this type of online activity” said Sgt. Paul Manaigre of the Manitoba RCMP. “We ask that students and residents in Selkirk only share facts from trusted sources such as the school district, police or city officials. Many people are experiencing fear and uncertainty over these incidents and the spreading of false information and rumours is not helpful.

"At this time, it appears that the new posts are related to the threats that were sent out on December 2 in which two people have been charged and remanded into custody."

All schools in the Lord Selkirk School Division (LSSD) are currently in a hold and secure after new threats were discovered.

All schools in the division had been closed for Monday after online threats were made on Sunday. RCMP made three arrests in relation to those threats, and classes resumed as normal today.

However, sometime this morning the LSSD says they they received "information of a potentail threat through a text message."

RCMP are on scene at schools in the division. The school division says that kids are safest in the schools, but parents may pick up their children at the front doors.

The LSSD posted the following to their website:

All schools are currently in a hold and secure after receiving information of a potential threat through a text message.

We believe the safest place for students is inside the school. However, if parents do pick up their children, the process is as follows:

Go to the front door of school.

A staff member will get your child.

Students will be released to parents at front doors.

The hold and secure will be removed once RCMP inform us.
