RCMP Manitoba says the road was slippery at the time of a fatal crash.

On Monday morning travelling northbound on Highway 3 near Sanford in the RM of Macdonald, a 39-year-old lost control of his vehicle. It then collided with a southbound pickup truck that was being driven by a 46-year-old.

The 39-year-old from Stanford was pronounced dead at the scene. The 46-year-old man from Winnipeg was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

RCMP Manitoba says alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

Headingley RCMP and Stonewall RCMP, the Criminal Collision Investigation Team, and a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist are investigating.
