One man is facing more than half-a-dozen separate charges after causing an estimated $17,000 in damages.

Police believe a man was high on methamphetamine when he decided to cause significant damage to the Centennial Concert Hall.

A man whom police believe was on methamphetamine at the time, was seen fracturing a large slab of granite. The man then used a brick to smash a concert hall window, breaking into the facility.

Security discovered and confronted the man, causing him to flee.

Outside of the hall, pedestrians witnessed the man brandish a gun. Threatened and terrified, pedestrians called 911.

At approximately 7:45 a.m, the Winnipeg Police Service arrived on the scene

When arriving, bystanders pointed out the man. The man then discarded the handgun but would not comply with officers.

Next, the man assaulted a police officer. The man was then forced to the ground but resisted attempts to be handcuffed. During the struggle, police discovered and removed a knife and a heavy bar from the man.

The man was taken into custody without any injuries. The handgun was later recovered.
