The Manitoba RCMP says that they are continuing to investigate the suspicious deaths of three individuals located in a residence on 7th Street SE in Portage la Prairie.

Officers are reportedly working with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause of the deaths and to confirm identities.

The adult man who was placed into custody yesterday has since been released.

“We know this a very difficult time for the community. We want to assure the residents of Portage la Prairie that our officers are doing everything they can to move this investigation forward” said Cpl. Julie Courchaine, spokesperson for the Manitoba RCMP.

“We have a number of specialized resources on-scene, including Major Crime Investigators and Forensic Identification Services as well as officers from the Portage la Prairie detachment.”

The police have not yet identified the deceased or their ages.

Additional information is expected to be released Tuesday, April 12.
