Macleans Magazine has released its annual list of Canada's most dangerous places, and once again Manitoba is home to some of the top ranked cities.

Thompson, Manitoba has taken the top spot, while Portage la Prairie ranked third. Selkirk comes in at seventh and Winnipeg sits at 13th.

This is not the first time that Thompson has been ranked No.1. They have now been named the most dangerous city in Canada for three consecutive years.

Thompson is largest city in the Northern Region of Manitoba, with a population of over 13,600.

Across the Prairies, the rankings don't change much. In Saskatchewan, North Battleford and Prince Albert and area are in second and fourth place, with Yorkton in the 15th slot.

Wetaskiwin, Alberta placed sixth.
