The Manitoba RCMP is continuing to investigate a fatal collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

It is reported that on October 19, at 1:40 a.m., RCMP Traffic Services responded to a call reporting a vehicle versus pedestrian collision on the Perimeter Highway east of the St. Anne's Road intersection in Winnipeg.

It has been determined, through an initial investigation, that a semi-truck was travelling east when a pedestrian walked onto the roadway and was hit.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. The identity of the pedestrian is still in process.

The semi-truck driver, who is a 52-year-old male from Blumenort, was not physically injured.

RCMP continues to investigate.
