A Winnipeg photographer found success in offering Christmas photos for families while giving back last year, so he's offering it again.

"Photography is something I've been interested in for about 15 years now," says photographer Alexei Mohsen. "In the last four or five years, I decided to start doing it professionally."

Mohsen runs a photography business, ATM Photography out of Winnipeg. He also has autism.

"From the time I got my first camera at 10, it always captivated me."

Christmas Photos that Give Back

Mohsen decided last year to take people's Christmas photos while giving back to the community. He is doing it again this year.

"There are two options. Both offer four different scenes, backdrops, and props. The first is our 'Do-it-your-selfies.'"

Mohsen says the first option is great for people on a budget who still want photos for the holidays.

"You bring your camera or phone. We will create the sets, and my staff and I will help you pose your family and take the picture with your camera."

The second option is a quick, yet professional photo session with Mohsen that results in four professional photos for Christmas.

A portion of the proceeds for both options is going to the Athlone At Risk Fund for children in need. Last year Mohsen raised $500 by offering this, and his goal this year is to raise $1,000.

"We became aware of the need last year and thought it would be a good way to help out. Lots of children go to school hungry, without proper winter clothes through no fault of their own."

The photos are being offered on November 12, 13, 19, and 20 at Sturgeon Heights Collegiate from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Anyone interested can schedule with Mohsen by emailing alexeimohsen@atmphotography.com. There are also dates in December.
