A woman is dead after being found in a garbage bin that was reportedly on fire.
Winnipeg police and firefighters responded to the rear of an apartment building at 33 Hargrave Street shortly after midnight on Apr. 6, 2021, after receiving a report of a garbage bin fire.
Chantelle Talarico, 30, was found inside the bin and later died of her injuries.
Members of the Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) major crimes unit are investigating the incident. Police say the fire is not believed to have been intentionally set.
Police are hoping to speak with anyone who may have had contact with Talarico during the evening of Apr. 5, 2021.
In a photo released by police, a male and female are shown locating Talarico's abandoned bike. Police are interested in speaking with these individuals and believe they may have spoken with Talarico just before the fire.
