The Winnipeg Police Service says four units teamed together to take down a dangerous meth lab in a residential home.

Last month, the WPS began investigating a possible methamphetamine lab in the Kildare-Redonda neighbourhood. Police say that Drug Enforcement Unit, with the help of the Tactical Support Team, Guns and Gangs, Organized Crime Unit, and the Clandestine Lab Team continued to investigate, executing a search warrant on a single-family home on July 30.

While searching, investigators discovered that the meth lab was using a ‘One Pot Method’ to produce methamphetamine Police say that this method is extremely dangerous due to the chemical reactions it causes. They say that the reactions could lead to possible explosions. Investigators say they also found toxic precursor chemicals inside the home.

Authorities say that two Winnipeggers, a 34-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man, are both facing Production of Methamphetamine and Possession of Methamphetamine charges.
