Visitors of Manitoban parks can forgo passes and fishing licenses for the annual Family Fishing Weekend.

Starting today until Sunday, the Province is providing free entry to provincial parks. 

“Our provincial parks offer a great opportunity for Manitobans to experience nature, get some exercise and spend quality time with their family and friends, while safely following the social distancing protocols,” Conservation and Climate Minister Sarah Guillemard says.

Provincial park vehicle permits, as well as fishing licenses, are not required this weekend for the Summer Family Fishing Weekend.

On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, vehicles are not required to have a pass to enter the park.

On Saturday and Sunday, fishers will not be required to have a license, however, anglers are expected to follow all fishing guidelines.

“Whether it is your first time casting or you are an experienced angler, there is something for everyone in Manitoba’s lakes and rivers, ”Agriculture and Resource Development Minister Blaine Pedersen says. “There are endless opportunities to explore and enjoy the outdoors in Manitoba. This weekend is an ideal time for families to try something new or revisit a favourite place together.”
