RCMP Major Crime investigators say that a person arrested in connection to the homicide of Bud Paul has since been released, but remains a suspect.

Bud Paul, 56, was reported missing on August 7 and his remains were found by hunters in Roseau River Anishinabe First Nation.

On December 20, RCMP Major Crime Services investigators arrested a previously identified 36-year-old female suspect for the homicide.

The female was arrested in Winnipeg and taken to RCMP Manitoba Headquarters for questioning. She was released on December 21, without charges.

The Manitoba RCMP says the investigation is ongoing and no further details can be provided at this time.
