RCMP continue to investigate after two children died in seperate drownings.

On Thursday June 15, RCMP responded to Garden Hill First Nation after a 23-month-old was found in the lake outside his home.

Police say the child was under the care of an older sibling.

He was taken to hospital but died on Sunday, June 18.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, RCMP responded to a second drowning in St. Theresa Point First Nation.

Several children were swimming when two 10 year old girls swam out too far. A bystander was able to save one them . 

A First Nation officer attended the scene with dive equipment, and located the second 10-year-old girl. She was taken to a nearby nursing station where she was pronounced dead.

RCMP continue to investigate both incidents.
