The first Whiteout Party of round two is shaping up to be incredible on its own, but a couple real jets are adding just a bit more excitement tonight.

In addition to adding live music, more screens, and more space, the Winnipeg Jets Whiteout Party will also be adding more spectacle, with the addition of a couple real jets.

"We're going to have a flyby with a couple of F-18's at about 7:09 p.m. hovering right over Donald Street," said Kevin Donnelly, senior vice-president of venues and entertainment at True North Sports & Entertainment.

Donnelly says they have been absolutely thrilled with the fan response to the parties so far and is hoping to continue showing Winnipeg off to all of North America.

There may also be a small amount of community rivalry between Nashville and Winnipeg fueling the planes flyby. Before game one, Nashville fans smashed a Cessna plane with hammers to raise money for charity, something they do before every playoff series. Typically, they use a car but made an exception for Winnipeg.

"That little Cessna thing they had on their doorstep wasn't very impressive," Donnelly laughed. "We're going to show them what a real jet looks like."

Donnelly says the excitement and enthusiasm from fans are unbelievable. Over 15,000 people showed up to the last street party, plus an additional 15,000 fans that took in the game in Bell MTS Place. The street party has been expanded to accommodate more people.

Going into game three, Donnelly is confident in predicting a Jets win. He believes the final score will be 4-2.
