They were getting worried around mid-December, but the Christmas Kettle Campaign finished strong and left organizers very happy.

On December 19, 2017, the Salvation Army's Christmas Kettle campaign had raised $185,000 of its $370,00 goal, which was not the place they were hoping to be.

But Major Rob Kerr, Public Relations for the Salvation Army, is very happy with where they ended.

"We are pleased to announce that our kettle campaign raised $360,000," Major Kerr said. "This is equal to last year and we are very pleased with this outcome."

Every kettle raised money for specific programming in the area it is in and Major Kerr says this money helps them determine what the next year will look like.

"This ongoing and overwhelming support enables us to continue serving our community through many community-based programs across the city," Major Kerr continued.

You can continue to make donations to The Salvation Army and the work that they are doing by heading online.
