Steinbach Bible College (SBC) is pleasantly surprised at the great variety of international students registered to begin their studies with them this fall.

“Of course the bulk of our students are from Manitoba, but we just have a really interesting, eclectic bunch coming this year,” exclaims Admissions Counselor Kaylene Buhler. She notes cultures from China, Belize, Brazil, Ukraine, Egypt, and various parts of Africa will all be represented in this year’s student body.

Despite the diverse range of people attending SBC, Buhler informs that approximately 100 students are enrolled this year, which is merely average. “There’s an ebb and flow in recruitment, and there's a five year up and a five year down, and it tends to go like that regularly," explains Buhler, "There was also a very small graduating class this from high-school so that could have something to do with our numbers as well.”

Buhler says she is excited that many of the students who are attending SBC this fall were attracted by new programs the school is offering. She notes the college is premiering an adventure program called “Pursuit” and offering a myriad of courses online.

Ultimately, Buhler says indicates she is looking forward to the relationships that will be made between people. “I am excited to welcome the new students on campus. When our news students come on campus and connect with our returning students, that’s very meaningful for me.”
