A Winnipeg park is refurbished and renamed.

City councillor Mike Pagtakhan officially opened and dedicated Roger Le Grand Park this morning; it used to be called Rose Hill Park.

Pagtakhan thanks the students from Meadows West School and area residents for their collaborative efforts, as well as Meadows West School principal Roger Le Grand "for whom we dedicate the park to today, for his continued dedication and commitment in helping make this park a reality."

A new play structure was installed at the park last October, at a cost of about $140,000. In 2017, a renewal project was carried out in three phases, the latest of which (a partnership with Meadows West School) brought 16 new trees to the space. The first phase cost $350,000 and the second cost $123,000.
