Seven Manitobans are $100,000 richer after winning Manitoba's latest vaccine incentive draw.

Crown Services Minister Jeff Wharton was joined by Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries CEO Manny Atwal Tuesday morning as they stood in the RBC Convention Centre, announcing the latest winners of Manitoba's Vax to Win lottery.

"This building has been home to thousands of immunizations which have helped protect our people and our province against COVID-19. I think it is very fitting that we are all here today to announce the second round of the Vax to Win winners," Wharton says.

This second round of winners differs slightly from the first round in the summer, as they were entered with their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Adult winners of $100,000 include:

  • Cuba Bazimya, Winnipeg Regional Health Authority
  • Inderjit Virdi, Winnipeg Regional Health Authority
  • Michaelle Cruz, Winnipeg Regional Health Authority
  • Edward Queskekapow, Northern Regional Health Authority
  • Gertie Bruce, Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority
  • James Hopfner, Prairie Mountain Health
  • Russell Peters, Southern Health–Santé Sud

Scholarship winners include:

  • Levi Alexander
  • Ellen Clark
  • Paul Concha
  • Sara Dixon
  • Christian Anthony Dizon
  • Theo Friesen
  • Oluwademilade (Demmy) Oni
  • Tristan Plourde
  • Aubrey Trenholm

This marks the closure of the Vax to Win lottery, but the province says it played an important part in boosting vaccination rates.
