Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for parts of southeastern Manitoba.

A low-pressure system will bring heavy snow to southern Manitoba beginning Wednesday evening, with totals of 10-15 cm expected by Thursday morning.

The highest accumulations will be toward the international border and decrease northward.

Surrounding areas, including Winnipeg, can expect 5-10 cm during this time.

The heavy snow will taper off Thursday morning as the system tracks into Ontario. Strong northerly winds will develop in the wake of this low which will create visibility reductions in blowing snow, especially along the Red River Valley and in open areas. Travellers should take caution that conditions may be hazardous into Friday.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
