There's a new hope stirring in people's hearts, as close to 350 people gathered for a special night of worship and prayer on the weekend in Winnipeg.

Saturday night, New Beginnings Church was filled with people, not only from Winnipeg, but surrounding communities and even other provinces, all with the same goal - to go deeper in individual relationships with Jesus, as well as uniting the local church body. Hence, where the name of the event, Deeper, comes from.

Starting the night off with a time of prayer and then transitioning into worship, the evening was meant to gather people together from multiple churches and unite them as the Body of Christ.

It certainly succeeded in that goal, seeing not only people from Manitoba, but other provinces represented too, with people from Toronto, Ont., and Calgary, Alta. in attendance.

Members from 16 churches were on stage with the hope of uniting the local church while also growing closer to The Lord, and introducing those who haven't given their life to Christ to Him.

Behind the scenes, were members from five other churches who were involved.

"It's a great opportunity to introduce friends to Jesus," Rachel Smith who is part of the choir and administration team shared.

The first Deeper event saw 20 people make the decision to follow Jesus, and with each event in the future, they're hoping that number continues to grow and grow.
