Winnipeg Police Service says they responded to a serious incident at a Winnipeg high school around noon on Wednesday.

Constable Rob Carver says that a 16-year-old male was taken to hospital with a stab wound after emergency services arrived at Glenlawn Collegiate.

That male was treated for a single stab wound and was released from hospital.

A second 16-year-old male had what police are calling "minor injuries" and was taken into police custody. 

 

The WPS now says that both males are students at the school and had gotten into an argument which became physical.

The teenager believed to be responsible for the stabbing has been charged with assault with a weapon and possess weapon. He has since been released on a promise to appear.

The other male who was stabbed was also later arrested and charged with assault, and released on a promise to appear.
