Living Bible Explorers (LBE) is opening its doors on June 24 for an open house and pie auction.

The West End ministry "has been around for 55 years for children, teens, and the whole family for Jesus through programming," says Cher Paulson, executive director of LBE. "We want to minister to the whole family, we do family retreats and we journey with people we disciple. We want to plug them into the life of a local church and we want families to be serving Jesus for generations. That's our heart."

June 24, is the first open house and pie auction. There is no admission fee but all money raised will go right back into supporting Living Bible Explorers

Paulson says that they needed a fundraising idea and God brought pie auctions to her mind. "We're going to open our doors on June 24 from 5-8. We're going to have some food for purchase. We're going to have hot dogs and drinks and I have some cool prizes that have been donated. And then at 6 o'clock, we're going to do this live pie auction. We've had 42 pies donated and we're going to auction off those pies."

The idea for a fundraiser came at a perfect time for Paulson. "We found out that we didn't get any summer grant funding from the government and it was just so cool, because I was like, God already knew. God already knew that was going to happen. He already had this in place. He knows where the money is, but more than that, we're just wanting to make accessible ways for people to come," Paulson says.

Paulson is excited for the event on Monday, June 24 from 5-8 p.m. at 600 Burnell Street.
