A Winnipeg man says the hope he has today is thanks to the powerful work of Jesus in his life.

"Five years ago I was homeless, addicted to drugs, and alcohol," Tony Schaefer says in an old Adult and Teen Challenge (ATC) video. In fact, it's now been seven years since he heard of ATC.

"In 2012, I heard about Adult and Teen Challenge, and that's when I asked for help."

Schaefer says at that time God showed Himself to Schefer, and "God made Himself real to me." Schaefer committed his life to Christ while in the ATC program.

Schaefer not only found freedom from his addictions while going through Adult and Teen Challenge's program, but he decided to stay with ATC after his graduation.

"I stayed on with Adult & Teen Challenge working with other men who need help because I know what it's like. I want other men out there who are struggling to know that if you're serious about changing your life, there is hope."

Schaefer says that he knows there is hope because he experiences it in his own life every day. "Today, I'm clean and sober. I have a future, purpose, and hope."
