Identity of 39-year old man found dead near down town Winnipeg has been released to the public by Winnipeg Police Services.
Scott Matthew Catcheway, a Winnipeg citizen, has been recognized as the second reported homicide victim this week.
On Wednesday at 9:02 p.m., WPS were called to a home in the 400 block of Young Street for a report of a disturbance and a serious assault. When police arrived, an adult man was found dead near the home.
Earlier this week there was another homicide reported. 27-year-old, Kyle James Craik, was assaulted and pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
The WPS said they do not believe the two deaths are connected at this time. The homicide unit is investigating.
