Two teenagers are detained in custody after being charged with serious offences.

Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) were called to a report of a stabbing at a residence in the 100 block of Kinver Avenue on October 26, 2019, at approximately 10:45 p.m

Officers located their two female victims: a 14-year-old and an 18-year-old.

Both victims were transported to hospital in critical condition. The 14-year-old succumbed to her injuries, and the 18-year-old victim was upgraded to stable condition," say police.

WPS says, "The Winnipeg Police Service has been made aware that members of the media and public are attempting to contact the family of the victim for comment. The family is dealing with a tragic situation and do not wish to speak about the events at this time.

"We kindly ask that their privacy is respected per their wishes."

As members of the Homicide Unit continued with the investigation, two suspects were identified and on October 28, 2019, after being located and placed under arrest.

Winnipeg police say, "Investigators believe that a dispute during a party at the residence escalated to a physical altercation."

Both the 16 and 18-year-old females of Winnipeg have been charged with Second Degree Murder and Attempt to Commit Murder. Both were detained in custody.
