The Stanley Cup made yet another trip to Manitoba this week, this time travelling to Sioux Valley Dakota Nation with Zach Whitecloud.

Hundreds of community members greeted Whitecloud at Sioux Valley's powwow arbour, cheering as he entered in a horse-drawn carriage with the Cup. A drum group played an honour song and he was also presented with a star blanket in the white, gold, and black colours of the Golden Knights.

Whitecloud was raised in Brandon, but is a member of the Dakota Nation, and spent time playing hockey there as a child. He went on to play with the Virden Oil Kings of the MJHL and then played college hockey at Bemidji State. While he went undrafted he's proven to be a solid pickup for the Golden Knights. He had eight points in the Golden Knights Cup run, and a +/- of 14 in the playoffs.

The 26-year-old defenceman also made a pit stop in Brandon for a truly Manitoban treat, taking the Stanley Cup into a local convenience store and filling it with a Slurpee. He also stopped in at Virden's hockey rink on his day with the most coveted trophy in Canada.
