If your Easter weekend plans involved sun and warmth, you're going to be disappointed. We're taking a quick look at your weekend weather forecast.

Although the next few days include lots of sun and lots of warmth, Natalie Hasell from Environment Canada is warning us that the weekend will not look the same.

"Like a lot of long weekends in Manitoba, we are looking at wet conditions," Hasell said. "Very similar to last weekend, though not quite as cold."

Hasell says the biggest concern this weekend will be the wet conditions combined with below zero temperatures. If you are travelling this Easter weekend, Hasell encourages you to use caution on the roads, especially on Saturday night, when the conditions call for rain or flurries as well as below zero temperatures.

"Roads conditions can change really quickly," Hasell warned. "It's really important if you are travelling that you pay attention to how things are changing around you and drive to the road conditions."

The temperature over the beginning of April has been going up and down fairly rapidly. This is due to low pressure systems that start north of Winnipeg and draw warm air up from the south, before moving south of Winnipeg, drawing the cold air from the north.

When is the temperature going to stay over 10°C regularly? "We can get frost easily till Victoria Day [in May]," Hasell said. "We'll have to wait quite a while for [consistent warmer temperatures."

Winnipeg will have to wait a little longer for summer temperatures to come, but in the meantime, we can enjoy days like this Thursday, which is forecasted to hit a high of 17°C.
