The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have released quarterback Chris Streveler in order for him to further pursue NFL opportunities.

Streveler spent two seasons in Winnipeg. He served as the backup to Matt Nichols to open the 2019 season, but after Nichols suffered a season-ending injury, Streveler took over that position.

Streveler finished with 1,564 yards and eight touchdown passes while completing 66 percent of his passes. Rushing the ball, he had 127 carries for 726 yards and 12 majors.

He also played a role in the Bombers Grey Cup victory, rushing for 39 yards and adding a touchdown to defeat the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, ending a 29 year Grey Cup drought.
