Bannatyne will be getting angled parking next week, but it's a bit different than normal.

Starting on Monday, July 24, the City of Winnipeg is testing a new parking system on Bannatyne Avenue.

The back-in, angled parking stalls between Rorie Street and Waterfront Drive are meant to increase on-street parking in the Enchange District.

"Back-in, angled parking will be new for most of us but I think it may be the solution we need in this area," said Councillor Marty Morantz in a release. "We are looking for Winnipeggers' feedback so please try it out and let us know what you think."

The project is part of City Council's directive to explore new parking solutions. The goal is to increase the amount of on-street parking available.

The parking change is also changing the flow of traffic, as Bannatyne between Rorie and Waterfront will now be a one-way street only, flowing westbound.

A survey will be available on the City's website from July 24 until September 25 to offer feedback on the project.
