In a four-game sweep against the Medicine Hat Tigers, the Winnipeg Ice advance to the second round of playoffs and await to see who they go up against next.

Last night the Winnipeg Ice beat the Medicine Hat Tigers 3-2 in a nail-biting match.

Matthew Savoie was the first to score in the first period, and the Tigers quickly responded as Dru Krebs found the back of the next.

In the second period, Owen Pederson helped the team gain the lead, but it was soon tied again by Hunter St. Martin. It was Ty Nash who scored the shot to bring the Ice the game-winning point in the third.

The Winnipeg Ice now move on to the second round of the playoff series and patiently wait to see who their next opponent is.

It will either be the Red Deer Rebels or the Calgary Hitmen and currently, the Rebels are in the lead 3-1 against the Hitmen. The two teams will play once again tomorrow at 8 pm at the Peavey Mart Centrium.
