A mix of snow, rain, freezing rain, and thunder looks to hit southern Manitoba this weekend.

Snow is expected to start on Saturday afternoon and into the evening before changing into freezing rain and rain in southeast parts of the province, including the Red River Valley.

West of the Red River Valley could see up to 40 cm of snow.

Strong winds Saturday night into Sunday look to give low visibility in blowing snow. Unnecessary travel is not recommended.

The exact track of this system is uncertain and, as a result, the location of the snow, freezing rain, and rain is uncertain and will become more clear as the weekend approaches.

The system will move out of the region Sunday night.
